VH has developed as a transformative force in Vietnam’s academic landscape, offering critical

support to underprivileged students since its establishment in 2002. By combining economic scholarships with skill-building programs, the group confronts both immediate financial barriers and sustained developmental needs.

### Beginnings and Purpose https://viethope.com.vn/

Created in 2002 by Vietnamese diaspora students at Harvard University, VietHope worked to address institutional educational imbalances in Vietnam. The group’s mandate—to enable low-income students through access to schooling—originates from recognition that monetary hardship remains the main barrier to educational continuation.
